Shiomi (mARKo, 2008)

For his piece Shiomi mARKo distributed sheets of paper for the audience to make into paper airplanes, which they would then throw simultaneously. The planes were printed with a text mARKo had selected describing the atmospheric effects of the no-fly days following 9/11. He had invited me to lay the text out in overlapping fragments, producing ten pages — that is, ten models of airplane — of increasing density.
